Air suspension centrifugal blowers are widely used in wastewater treatment, cement, textile, chemical, and industrial air supply applications due to their high energy efficiency, low noise, and contact-free bearing technology. However, during operation, some users may experience insufficient outlet pressure or reduced air supply. These problems can affect equipment efficiency and disrupt normal production processes.
What causes insufficient pressure in air suspension centrifugal blowers, and how can it be solved? This article explains the common causes and corresponding solutions.
Air suspension centrifugal blowers require a continuous supply of clean air. If the intake filter is not cleaned or replaced regularly, dust and impurities may accumulate, increasing air intake resistance and reducing the actual air intake volume. This can eventually result in insufficient outlet pressure.
Air leakage may occur at outlet pipes, flange connections, or valves, resulting in reduced delivery pressure. In addition, debris, scale buildup, or partially closed valves can increase pipeline resistance and affect normal air supply.
Air suspension centrifugal blowers generally use variable frequency drives (VFDs) to adjust operating speed. Incorrect VFD settings, motor abnormalities, or control system limitations may prevent the blower from reaching its designed operating speed, resulting in insufficient pressure.
If pipeline length, system resistance, and actual air demand are not properly considered during blower selection, the rated pressure may not meet the requirements of the application. Increased production demand may also exceed the original equipment capacity.
Inspect the air intake filter and clean or replace it if it is clogged, damaged, or has excessive resistance. Establishing a regular maintenance schedule helps prevent restricted airflow from affecting blower performance.
Check the inlet and outlet pipelines, flanges, seals, and valves. Repair any leaks promptly and replace worn sealing components. Clean blocked pipelines and ensure that valves are properly positioned to minimize unnecessary pressure losses.
Check the VFD frequency, motor operating conditions, and control system settings. Verify that the blower operates according to actual air demand. Pressure sensors should also be inspected to ensure accurate measurements and prevent incorrect automatic adjustments. Parameter changes should be performed by qualified technicians in accordance with the equipment manual.
If the above inspections reveal no obvious problems but pressure remains insufficient, reassess the system requirements. Check the actual airflow, operating pressure, pipeline resistance, and equipment load. If necessary, optimize the pipeline design or select a blower model that better matches the operating conditions.
Regularly inspect filters, pipelines, valves, electrical systems, and pressure sensors. Identifying potential problems early can prevent minor issues from developing into major equipment failures.
Record outlet pressure, inlet air temperature, operating frequency, current, and vibration data. If pressure continues to decrease or fluctuates abnormally, investigate the cause promptly.
When purchasing an air suspension centrifugal blower, select the appropriate model based on actual operating conditions. Pay attention to manufacturing quality, control system performance, and technical support to ensure long-term and stable operation.
Insufficient pressure in air suspension centrifugal blowers is commonly associated with clogged intake filters, pipeline leaks, abnormal operating parameters, and improper equipment selection. When this problem occurs, inspect the air intake and pipeline systems first, followed by the control parameters and overall equipment condition.
With proper operation, regular maintenance, and correct equipment selection, pressure-related problems can be effectively reduced, ensuring efficient and stable blower performance.
