NSRH Series Roots blowers are commonly used positive-displacement blowers featuring a compact structure, stable operation, and relatively uniform airflow. They are widely used in wastewater treatment, pneumatic conveying, industrial aeration, chemical processing, and other applications. To ensure reliable operation and extend equipment service life, proper procedures should be followed during installation, commissioning, and daily operation. This article outlines the key precautions for installing and operating NSRH Series Roots blowers.
Proper installation is the foundation for stable blower operation. Before installation, the installation location should be planned according to the blower model, operating parameters, and site conditions.
The blower should be installed in a dry, well-ventilated area that provides convenient access for inspection and maintenance. Avoid installing the equipment in environments with excessive heat, moisture, or dust. Sufficient space should be reserved around the blower for lubrication, inspection, maintenance, and replacement of components.
The foundation must have sufficient load-bearing capacity and remain level and stable. Where necessary, vibration-reduction measures can be installed according to equipment requirements to reduce vibration during operation.
When installing pipelines, avoid allowing the weight of the piping system to act directly on the blower inlet or outlet, as this may cause deformation or additional mechanical stress. The inside of the piping should be kept clean, and welding slag, debris, and other foreign matter should be removed before installation.
An air filter should be installed in the inlet line as required to prevent dust and impurities from entering the blower. Appropriate safety protection devices should also be installed in the outlet line according to system pressure requirements.
After installation, the blower should not immediately be operated at full load for an extended period. A comprehensive inspection and trial run should be carried out first.
Before starting the blower, check whether the lubricating oil level is normal and whether all connecting bolts are properly tightened. The belt or coupling should also be checked to ensure correct installation, along with the condition of the inlet and outlet pipelines and valves.
The motor wiring should be checked to ensure it is correct, and the motor rotation direction must comply with the equipment requirements. If the rotation direction is incorrect, stop the machine immediately and correct it to prevent damage to the blower.
During the trial run, closely monitor operating pressure, temperature, current, vibration, and noise. If abnormal temperature rise, excessive vibration, unusual noise, or a sudden increase in pressure occurs, stop the blower and inspect it promptly.
Roots blowers are positive-displacement machines, so particular attention should be paid to system pressure during operation. Long-term operation under excessive pressure may cause motor overload and damage internal blower components.
Proper routine maintenance can reduce equipment failures and extend the service life of the blower.
Check the lubricating oil level and condition regularly according to the equipment requirements, and replace the oil based on actual operating hours. Insufficient or deteriorated lubricating oil may affect the normal operation of bearings and gears and therefore should not be overlooked.
Air filters can accumulate dust after prolonged use, increasing inlet resistance. A clogged filter may cause reduced airflow, increased energy consumption, or even affect normal equipment operation. Therefore, an appropriate cleaning and replacement schedule should be established according to the air quality of the operating environment.
It is recommended to record operating pressure, temperature, current, vibration, and maintenance information. When operating parameters change significantly, historical records can help identify potential problems at an early stage and support preventive maintenance.
During operation, avoid frequent starts and stops, and control operating pressure and airflow according to actual working conditions. If an abnormality occurs, do not continue operating the blower under faulty conditions. Stop the equipment promptly and identify the cause.
Overall, the reliable operation of an NSRH Series Roots blower depends not only on the equipment itself but also on installation quality, operating procedures, and routine maintenance. Proper installation, commissioning, and maintenance can reduce the risk of failures, improve operating efficiency, and extend the service life of the Roots blower.
